Hawaii’s hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30. In addition to preparing a disaster supply kit and keeping an inventory of personal belongings, it is advised to be adequately insured before a hurricane strikes.
Island’s homeowners, condo unit-owners, and renters insurance policies do not cover hurricane damage. Hurricane insurance is a separate policy that can cover your home, your belongings, or both in the event of a hurricane. Island agents offer hurricane policies through another insurer.
