Honolulu, May 25, 2023 – Island Insurance has appointed Reid Hokama as Vice President, Personal Lines and Marketing. In this role, he will manage Island’s personal insurance division and marketing department for Hawaii’s only locally owned property and casualty insurance carrier.
Reid has nearly three decades of financial experience in a career that has taken him from Hawaii to California and Massachusetts. Most recently, he served as Vice President & Investment Strategy Manager in Central Pacific Bank’s Wealth Management Group, overseeing all investment related activities for personal and institutional clients of the bank. Other previous positions include Director of Research at Honolulu’s Tao Investments and Senior Financial Analyst at Electronic Arts in California.
Hokama is an active community member who currently serves on the Board of Directors of Parents and Children Together (PACT). Previous volunteer service includes membership on the Board of Directors of the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii.
He earned a Master of Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley. He is a graduate of Iolani School.
